Pull By

1 Was ist das?

Ein Pull By ist ein Baustein, kein eigenständiger Call: zwei sich gegenüberstehende Tänzer fassen kurz eine Hand, ziehen sich sanft aneinander vorbei und lassen im Vorbeigehen wieder los.

Es steckt in vielen Figuren – etwa in Right and Left Grand, oder in Ladies Chain (Right Pull By).

2 So läuft es ab & Tipps

• Right Pull By: rechte Hände fassen (wie zum Händeschütteln), kurz sanft anziehen und rechtsschultrig aneinander vorbei – wie bei einem Pass Thru.
• Left Pull By: dasselbe mit der linken Hand und linksschultrig vorbei.
• Die Handverbindung ist ganz leicht – nur so fest, dass man Kontakt spürt; jeder kann sich jederzeit lösen.
• Loslassen, bevor die Körper aneinander vorbeigehen – nicht festhalten und herumziehen.
• Die Ocean Wave Rule gilt auch hier.

3 Original-Definition (englisch)

Right Pull By: From Facing Dancers, dancers take right hands as if they were going to shake hands, exert a momentary, gentle pull to initiate forward motion, and perform a Pass Thru action. As the dancers pass each other, the handhold is released. The handhold should be just firm enough to establish connection, allowing either dancer to disengage at will. The Ocean Wave Rule applies. Left Pull By: Same as Right Pull By but starting with left hands and passing left shoulders.
